A rotary evaporator is a commonly used device for evaporating or concentrating liquids. It uses a rotating motion to place the liquid on a heated surface, and evaporates the liquid by heating, thereby concentrating or purifying the solution. Its basic principle is to use the high-speed rotation of the rotating bottle and the heating effect of the heater to place the solution on the heated surface, evaporate the solvent by reducing pressure or increasing the temperature, and finally concentrate or purify the sample.
The working process of the rotary evaporator is as follows:
1. Preparation:
Check whether the equipment is intact, check whether all components are intact, and whether the liquid inlet and outlet are unobstructed.
Prepare the solution or sample to be treated, and ensure that its concentration and volume meet the treatment requirements of the evaporator.
2. Sample loading:
Pour the solution to be treated into the rotating bottle, and be careful not to exceed the capacity limit to avoid affecting the evaporation effect.
Ensure that the sealing performance of the rotating bottle is good to prevent solution leakage or outside air from entering.
3. Heating:
Start the heater, heat the bottom of the rotating bottle, and start evaporating the solution. The heating temperature is adjusted according to the nature of the sample and the required concentration.

4. Rotation:
Start the rotating device to rotate the rotating bottle at high speed. The purpose of rotation is to increase the contact area between the solution and the heated surface and promote the evaporation of the solvent.
5. Collect the evaporated product:
The evaporated solvent is condensed into liquid through the steam condenser and finally collected in the liquid collection bottle. It can be collected continuously or in batches as needed.
6. Monitoring operation:
During the entire evaporation process, it is necessary to continuously monitor the concentration of the solution and the evaporation of the solvent, and adjust the heating temperature and speed according to the actual situation.

7. End operation:
After the evaporation is completed, turn off the heater and the rotating device, and take the evaporated product out of the liquid collection bottle for subsequent processing or analysis.
When used next time, clean the equipment and perform necessary maintenance to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
Rotary evaporators are commonly used in chemical laboratories, pharmaceutical industries, food processing and other fields, and are widely used in concentration, extraction and purification.
