How does the Lab Jacketed Reactor work?

The lab jacketed reactor uses a double-walled design in which an internal vessel houses the chemical reactants and an external jacket circulates heating or cooling fluids to regulate the reaction temperature inside the core vessel. The jacket is filled with a medium such as water or oil, and the pump is used for circulation. The reaction temperature can be precisely controlled by adjusting the temperature of the medium in the jacket. This setup not only controls the temperature, but also provides insulation, maintains a constant temperature and prevents heat loss or gain, which is critical for reactions that require a specific temperature range to achieve efficiency and high yields.  Lab jacketed reactor can be run in batches or continuously, in which reactants are fed and products are taken out continuously.
